The Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) was sponsored by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The programme aimed to strengthen the entrepreneurial and managerial capabilities of artisans engaged in traditional Kantha Embroidery Craft.
The primary objective of this initiative is to equip artisans with essential entrepreneurial skills required to succeed in an increasingly competitive global market. It aligns with the vision of the Government of India to empower artisans through skill development and entrepreneurship, promote self-reliance, and strengthen the presence of traditional handicrafts at both national and international levels.
Design is a creative and purposeful endeavor aimed at developing a plan for a product, structure, system, or component, taking into account both aesthetics and functionality. It is also considered a science, as it involves systematic study, data collection, analysis, and research. Design is always intentional and never accidental.
3 Days Craft Demonstration cum-Awareness Programme (CDAP) (10.03.2026 to 12.03.2026)
3 Days Craft Demonstration cum-Awareness Programme CDAP) was launched at Amaipara Pollishree Handicraft Producer Company in Amaipara.
The Objective is to promote awareness and appreciation of Kantha Embroidery and its cultural heritage, while strengthening the capacity of local artisans through training and live demonstrations, thereby fostering sustainable livelihood opportunities.
The main objective of the Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) is to enhance the knowledge, skills, and entrepreneurial capabilities of artisans, enabling them to establish, manage, and successfully run their own enterprises.
The 1st Batch 06 Days Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) was conducted by Amaipara Pollishree Handicraft Producer Company in Amaipara from 13th March 2026 to 18th March, 2026.
The 10-day Handicrafts Exhibition 2026 took place from 22nd March, 2026 to 31st March, 2026 at Sabja Sangha Ground, Berhampore.
The objective of exhibitions under the NHDP scheme is to provide artisans with a platform to showcase and sell their handicrafts, promote traditional art, increase their income, and connect them with wider markets.
The 2nd Batch 06 Days Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) was conducted by Amaipara Pollishree Handicraft Producer Company in Amaipara from 19th March.2026 to 24th h March, 2026.
