Market Survey Overview

A Market Survey on Kantha Embroidery in Murshidabad, West Bengal, was conducted by Mr. Mrityunjay Kumar, Empanelled Designer, over a period of one month from 25th February 2026 to 24th March 2026. The survey report was submitted on 25th March 2026.

 

Workshop Implementation

Under the guidance and supervision of the Empanelled Designer, Mr Mrityunjay Kumar.   and Ms. Sumana Adhikari, Designer, the Design & Technology Development Workshop (DTDW) was conducted in two batches from 27th March 2026 to 31st March 2026. Each batch comprised of 30 artisans, ensuring active participation and skill development.

The Producer Company comprises around 650 local women artisans engaged in the traditional craft of Kantha embroidery stitching. At the grassroots level, APHPCL is actively involved in the production and promotion of Kantha embroidery products, preserving this rich heritage craft while creating sustainable livelihood opportunities.
